crotamiton /cro·ta·mi·ton/ (krōt″ah-mi´ton) an acaricide used in the treatment of scabies and as an antipruritic.
crotamiton [krōtam′iton] a scabicide. indications It is prescribed in the treatment of scabies and other pruritic skin diseases. contraindications Known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use. It is not applied near the eyes or on the mouth or raw skin. adverse effects Among the most serious adverse reactions are irritation and allergic reactions of the skin. crotamiton an acaricide used in the topical treatment of scabies in dogs and cnemidocoptic mange in budgerigars.
