coulometry

[ko̅o̅lom′ətrē]
a type of electroanalytic chemistry in which a reagent generated at the surface of an electrode reacts with a substance to be measured. The substance, usually a metal ion, is measured in terms of the coulombs required for the reaction.

A titration technique in which the titrant is electrochemically generated. The Ag+ titrant in the chloridometer is commonly used to determine the concentration of chloride in the sample.
