Etymology: L, convolutus, rolled together; ME, kidenei; L, tubulus
pertaining to the proximal convoluted tubule of the nephron that leads from the glomerulus to the connecting ducts and between the Bowman's capsule and the loop of Henle. The proximal and distal sections are convoluted, whereas the ascending and descending limbs of Henle's loop are relatively straight.
