con·tig map

a physical map of a chromosome or stretch of DNA constructed from sets of overlapping clones (contigs).

contig

A continuous segment of genetic material on a chromosome.

contig

a contiguous set of overlapping DNA sequences, which assemble to form a defined region of the genome from which they derived. Contig formation is a necessary step in determining the sequence of an entire genome by the CLONE CONTIG SEQUENCING METHOD. See also GENOMICS.

contig

a series of overlapping clones or a sequence defining an uninterrupted section of a chromosome.
