At roughly the same size as a standard 35-gallon trash can, these compactors contain solar panels powering a compaction unit that provides up to five times the capacity of a traditional trashcan.
Perhaps more of this trash would have been recycled if more people had owned trash compactors for recycling.
Current trash compactors on garbage collection trucks run on power from the truck's engine.
