A diagnosis of lipoma-induced colonic intussusception in mobile cecum syndrome was confirmed.
To the best of our knowledge, colonic intussusception induced by cecal lipoma in a patient with mobile cecum, as in our case, has not yet been reported.
RAIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS: Proximal ascending colonic intussusception secondary to a large exophytic mass.
Colonic adenocarcinoma is the most common malignant neoplasm associated with colonic intussusception.
Key words: prolapse, colonic intussusception
, oviductal prolapse, cloacolith, enterotomy, anastomosis, raptor, cloaca, avian
is most commonly caused by a primary carcinoma and benign tumors including submucosal masses and accounts for the majority of cases of intestinal intussusception.
En bloc resection of the lesion using standard oncologic surgical principles remains the recommended first line treatment for adult colonic intussusception
Prolapse of colonic intussusception
looks like a tube of tissue protruding from the anus but the same is actually the colon passing through the rectum in a 'telescoped' manner.
Neoplasms serving as the lead point of colonic intussusception
are more commonly malignant, while those causing enteric intussusceptions are usually benign.
They tend to act as leading point causing colonic intussusception
as in the present case.
Abdominal USG may also useful in the diagnosis particularly in the hands of skilled operator, The hyper echoic well circumscribed layered mass in the colon with diminished blood flow in Doppler scan is highly suggestive of colonic intussusception
with lipoma may be the lead point
5) Malignant tumours produced nearly 50% of colonic intussusceptions
and predominantly benign tumours caused small bowel intussusceptions.
