n.
A deformity of the foot marked by an exaggerated arch and downward flexion of the toes.

claw foot
Orthopedics A deformity caused by atrophic paralysis of intrinsic foot muscles, which allows the long toe extensors to dorsiflex the proximal phalanges, and the long flexors to shorten the foot, heighten the arch and flex the distal phalanges, pulling the foot into talipes equinus; CF occurs in chronic polyneuropathies, and is typical of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Cf Lobster claw deformity.
