general designation for syndromes due to chromosomal aberrations; typically associated with mental retardation and multiple congenital anomalies.

chromosomal syndrome

A generic term for any constellation of physical abnormalities attributed to usually inherited chromosomal changes—e.g., mutations, polymorphisms, duplications, etc.
