| A second study, "Osteonecrosis Following Arthroscopic Chondroplasty -- a Retrospective Evaluation of 521 Patients Who Underwent Arthroscopic Knee Surgery," indicated no relationship between the onset of osteonecrosis and the type of surgical device used for treating symptomatic chondral defects in the knee.
