It's not clear what triggers reactivation of the chickenpox virus but it may be linked to changes in the immune system.
The idea, which reportedly first surfaced on speciality Internet sites, comes from "chickenpox parties," where sick children infect healthy ones with the chickenpox virus.
The condition, which produces painful blisters, is caused by the chickenpox virus, herpes zoster.
