It is formed by the cetylation of bovine tallow oil, and contains the specific fatty acid esters cetyl oleate, cetyl palmitoleate, cetyl palmitate, cetyl myristate and cetyl myristoleate.
A mixture of esters of fatty acids, it is composed chiefly of cetyl palmitate.
