Patient discussion about cesarean

Q. How long does it take to recover from a C-section? I am due to give birth through a cesarean section. How long does it take to recover from a C-section?

A. This is a surgery, after all, and the healing process is different with every woman. The first few days after surgery you will experience pain mainly because of the stiches in your lower adbomen. Most women get up and walk around after a day, sometimes even faster. You will need to stay in the hospital for at least 4-5 days for full recovery and within a few weeks the scar should heal completely.

Q. How is a C-section done? My wife is expecting twins and her Doctor scheduled a C- section for her. How is it done?

A. My wife had a c-section done when we had our daughter. I did not get to see the procedure, but I did hear it. It was graphic, but really quick.
