cauda /cau·da/ (kaw´dah) pl. cau´dae   [L.] a tail or taillike appendage.
cauda equi´na  the collection of spinal roots descending from the lower spinal cord and occupying the vertebral canal below the cord.

A tail or taillike structure, or a tapering or elongated extremity of an organ or other part.
