carpitis /car·pi·tis/ (kahr-pit´is) inflammation of the synovial membranes of the bones of the carpal joint in domestic animals, producing swelling, pain, and lameness.
carpitis
common acute or chronic inflammation of the joint capsule of the carpus and the associated structures in horses. There is pain and swelling and there may be exostoses in chronic cases. Called also popped knee in horses.
