carotenaemia

A clinical finding characterised by a transient yellowing of skin due to excess dietary carotene, most commonly associated with excess consumption of carrots or beta carotene supplements.

Carotene in the blood, especially pertaining to increased quantities, which sometimes cause a pale yellow-red pigmentation of the skin that may resemble icterus.
