Cannula

cannula /can·nu·la/ (kan´u-lah) a tube for insertion into a vessel, duct, or cavity; during insertion its lumen is usually occupied by a trocar.

A flexible tube, usually containing a trocar at one end, that is inserted into a bodily cavity, duct, or vessel to drain fluid or administer a substance such as a medication.

Cannula
A tube inserted into a cavity to serve as a channel for the transport of fluid.

A hollow, plastic sinus guide cannula is placed near the entrance of the involved sinus under endoscopic visualization, usually with a 0[degrees] or 30[degrees] telescope (figure, B).
Per his instructions, he did not receive artificial hydration or nutrition, but he was provided with oxygen through a "nasal cannula.
Ensure a non-fenestrated inner cannula is used when suctioning.
