calcium infusion test, a test for hyperglycinemia in which calcium gluconate is administered to the fasting patient for 180 minutes. Serum samples are obtained 30 minutes before infusion, at its initiation, and every 30 minutes for 2 hours afterwards. The patient with a gastrinoma will show a sharp rise in production of gastrin.
