CABĀ Cellulose acetate butyrate is a transparent thermoplastic material that is used in the manufacture of gas permeable contact lenses as it transmits some oxygen. It is a copolymer with varying percentages of cellulose, butyryl and acetyl. CAB lenses vary in their characteristics depending on the percentages of the three components.
