The dried leaves of Barosma betulina, B. crenulata, or B. serratifolia (family Rutaceae), a shrub growing in South Africa; used as a carminative, diuretic, and urinary antiseptic.

Toxicity
Buchu-induced diuresis decreases potassium levels.
