buccal notch,
a depression in a denture flange that accommodates the buccal frenum. See also labial notch.

n the negative space between the buccal surface of the maxillary first premolar and the inner point at which the lips join when the patient smiles. It is often stated as a ratio of the inner lip commissure width divided by the distance between the first maxillary premolars.

n (hamular notch), the notch or fissure formed at the junction of the maxilla and the hamular, or pterygoid, process of the sphenoid bone.

n the concavity on the superior surface of the ramus of the mandible lying between the coronoid and condyloid processes.
