Infection that develops into a breast abscess usually needs to be drained. Continuing to breastfeed with sub-clinical mastitis, thrush, a cracked or bleeding nipple or a breast abscess. Reasons for this difference are not clear; however, the more frequent use of serial ultrasound-guided aspiration in breast abscess management in recent years (when most MRSA cases occurred) may account for this finding. |
