n relaxation therapy aimed at learning to identify and control brainwaves, which are the electrical signals generated by brain cells. An individual can produce or change these brainwaves and monitor the same with electroencephalograph instruments. Has been used to treat patients with addiction problems, learning disabilities, seizures, and sleep disorders. See also biofeedback.
