bovine growth hormone
n.
A naturally occurring hormone of cattle that regulates growth and milk production. It may also be produced artificially by genetic engineering techniques and administered to cows to increase milk production. Also called bovine somatotropin.

A study sponsored by recombinant bovine somatotropin (rbST) manufacturer Elanco, a division of Eli Lilly and Company, has found that the growth hormone, the supplement approved by the U.
