bovine herpes mammillitis mamillitis
an infectious ulcerative dermatitis of the teats and udder of cows, caused by bovine herpesvirus 2 (BHV-2). The same virus also causes the Allerton form of lumpy skin disease. Spread between herds may be by insect vector. The lesions are severe and include vesicles, papules, sloughing of skin, scab formation and ulceration.
