bipenniform /bi·pen·ni·form/ (bi-pen´ĭ-form) doubly feather-shaped; said of muscles whose fibers are arranged on each side of a tendon like barbs on a feather shaft.
bipenniform [bīpen′ifôrm′] Etymology: L, bis + penna, feather, forma, form (of body structure) having the bilateral symmetry of a feather, such as the pattern formed by the fasciculi that converge on both sides of a muscle tendon in the rectus femoris. Compare multipenniform, penniform, radiate. bipenniform doubly feather-shaped; said of muscles whose fibers are arranged on each side of a tendon like barbs on a feather shaft.
