tar (tahr) a dark-brown or black, viscid liquid obtained from various species of pine or from bituminous coal (coal t.). It is used for topical treatment of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and dandruff, but is toxic and carcinogenic by inhalation or ingestion. tar [tär] Etymology: AS, teoru a dark, viscid organic mixture produced by the distillation of coal, wood, or vegetable matter. Some forms of tar are used to treat eczema and other skin disorders. tar a dark-brown or black, viscid liquid obtained from various species of pine or from bituminous coal. In addition to Bullock and King nearly beating the tar out of each other on a regular basis, the story - set primarily in Las Vegas - features outrageous costumes, an over-the- top personal stylist (played by Diedrich Bader), running Dolly Parton gags and plenty of high jinks. Rayor notes that not many people have studied how social animals space themselves and "how they wrestle for advantage without actually beating the tar out of each other. ``Thirteen'' opens with Tracy and Evie - both quite high - in full giggle mode while beating the tar out of each other trying to see whether they can still feel pain. |
