base·line fe·tal heart rate

the average heart rate for a particular fetus during the diastolic phase of uterine contractions.

baseline fetal heart rate

the fetal heart rate pattern between uterine contractions. An electronic fetal monitor is used to detect abnormally rapid or slow rates (less than 110 or more than 160 beats/min) at term.

baseline fetal heart rate

Abbreviation: FHR
The average range of beats per minute recorded within a 10-min time frame. The normal range is between 120 and 160 beats per minute.
