A member of the contactin subgroup of cell adhesion molecules within the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded by CNTN2 on chromosome 1q32.1, which is differentially expressed in various neuronal tissues during development, and interacts with several ligands including Nr-CAM, L1, NCAM, neurocan, phosphacan, and tenascin.
