An instrument used in the determination of the position of the optical axes, especially for adjustment of eyeglasses. Also called axonometer.
axometer 
1. Instrument for determining the axis of a cylindrical lens and the optical centre of a lens.
2. Instrument used in the subjective determination of the principal meridians of an astigmatic eye. Syn. axonometer.
