au·to·e·ryth·ro·cyte sensitization syndrome (ô t - -rth r -s t)n. A condition, usually occurring in women, in which bruising occurs easily, with the resulting ecchymoses tending to enlarge and involve adjacent tissues, causing pain in the affected parts; it may be a form of autosensitization or may be due to psychogenic causes.
