1. An artery with origin in the external carotid artery, with muscular, posterior tympanic, auricular, occipital, and stylomastoid branches; posterior auricular artery.
2. An artery with origin in the maxillary artery, with distribution to the articulation of the jaw, parotid gland, and external acoustic meatus, and with anastomoses to the branches of the superficial temporal and the posterior auricular arteries; deep auricular artery.

An axial pattern flap was designed along the vascular axis of the posterior auricular artery and its branches.
The intrapetrosal portion is supplied by the superficial petrosal branch of the middle meningeal artery and the stylomastoid branch of the posterior auricular artery portion is supplied by the stylomastoid, posterior auricular, superficial temporal, and transverse facial arteries.
