The Acre Project: the epidemiology of malaria and arthropod-borne virus infections in a rural Amazonian population.
The meeting, aimed at clinical scientists, physicians, medical technologists, and other professionals involved in clinical immunology laboratory testing, will include presentations on arthropod-borne virus detection, autoimmune disease triggers, asthma biomarkers, cord-blood transplantation developments, and more.
At the same time, along with Bob Tesh, Bob brought the World Reference Center for Emerging Viruses and Arboviruses to the university--this is one of the most valuable virus collections in the world, comprising >4,000 arthropod-borne virus strains and >1,000 other virus strains.
