arrayed library

A library of individual primary recombinant clones which are hosted in a phage, cosmid, YAC, or other vector placed in 2-D arrays in microtitre dishes. Each primary clone can be identified by the plate’s number and the clone’s location (row and column) on that plate.
Applications Screening for specific genes or region of interest in the genome.
