the highest point of the notch or concavity of the lower border of the ramus where it joins the body of the mandible.

Etymology: L, ante + gonia, angle
a depression or concavity commonly present on the lower edge of the mandible on each side, immediately in front of the angle, or corner of the jaw, near the anterior margin of the masseter muscle attachment.
