anoopsia [an′ō·op′sē·ə] Etymology: Gk, ana, up, ops, eye a strabismus in which one or both eyes are deviated upward. Also called hypertropia. hypertropia Strabismus in which one eye is directed to the fixation point while the other is directed upward (right or left hypertropia). If one eye fixates while the other is directed downward, the condition is called hypotropia (right or left hypotropia).
