angina (pectoris)

severe but temporary attack of cardiac pain that may radiate from the chest to the arms, throat, lower jaw or the back. Caused by myocardial ischaemia (inadequate blood flow to the heart muscle). Often the attack is induced by exercise (angina of effort).
