amprolium

amprolium

a widely used coccidiostat that is stable in chicken rations and compatible with most ration ingredients. Needs to be combined with other compounds to achieve all-round protection and treatment.

amprolium poisoning
causes encephalopathy in cattle and sheep, possibly by causing brain swelling because of its antithiamin action. See also polioencephalomalacia.

Results of the study demonstrated equipotent efficacy of pure berberine in comparison to that of standard drug amprolium on the basis of reduction in coccidian oocyst output, body weight gain of chicken and feed conversion ratio.
Previously different anti-coccidial drugs like sulfamethazine and amprolium were successfully used for the treatment of coccidiosis in dogs (Olson 1985).
Group B was treated with Amprolium (50mg / kg body weight for 5 days orally).
Los principales coccidiostaticos ionoforos son los siguientes: lasalocid, monensina sodica, narasina, salinomicina, maduramicina, nicarbazina, amprolium.
To determine whether chemotherapeutic compounds available for use in domestic poultry are effective at controlling coccidiosis in northern bobwhites (Colinus virginianus), we tested 13 chemotherapeutic anticoccidials including amprolium (250 parts per million [ppm]), clopidol (125 ppm), diclazuril (1 ppm and 2 ppm), decoquinate (30 ppm), lasalocid (120 ppm), monensin (90 ppm), narasin/nicarbazin (36/36 ppm), robenidine (33 ppm), roxarsone (50 ppm), sulfadimethoxine/ormetoprin (125/75 ppm), salinomycin (60 ppm), semduramicin (25 ppm), and zoalene (125 ppm and 150 ppm).

5g/liter of Amprolium (vitamins and antibiotics) was administered to chicken throughout the studies.
This involves using a coccidiostats such as amprolium, decoquinate or lasalocid.
Chemotherapeutic options discussed include amprolium, sulfonamides, clazuril, and toltrazuril.
