alpha (α)-blocker

a substance that interferes with the action at the adrenoceptor of an α-adrenergic agonist. In full alpha (α) adrenoceptor (or adrenergic) antagonist . Can be selective for alpha-1 (α1), alpha-2 (α2) or their further subtypes. See also adrenoceptor.
