The 75-year-old man from Liverpool lives alone with his daughter, who suffers from alcoholic dementia, and is supposed to receive three visits a day from carers.
Mr Laydon, of Walker, suffered from alcoholic dementia which left him confused.
There is even a medical condition called alcoholic dementia.
