pertaining to the members of the family Alcelaphinae of antelopes of which the hartebeest and wildebeest are members.

alcelaphine herpesvirus-1 (AHV-1)
in the genus Rhadinovirus of the subfamily Gammaherpesvirinae. This is the cause of wildebeest-related bovine malignant catarrhal fever in European cattle.
