ageing and exercise

certain risks, especially involving the cardiovascular system, increase with age. Ageing is associated with degenerative conditions; there is a reduction in bone density and deterioration of lung function, aerobic fitness and muscle strength. The benefits of activity in advancing years include a reduced incidence of heart disease, maintenance of bone mineral content (reducing fracture risk), muscle strength and balance (reducing falls) and an increased life expectancy.
