ADRA1B

A gene on chromosome 5q33.3 that encodes alpha-1B-adrenergic receptor, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, which activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, triggering mitogenic responses and regulating growth, proliferation and signalling through the Gq/11 family of G proteins.

Molecular pathology
ADRA1B has been identified as a proto-oncogene.
