acute alcoholic hallucinosis

Alcohol withdrawal, marked by visual hallucinations, extreme agitation, tachycardia, hypertension, and other signs and symptoms of cerebral and autonomic hyperactivity. In alcoholics, it commonly occurs between 12 and 48 hours after drinking stops.
