abnormal vascular pattern

There are 3 characteristic abnormal vascular patterns found on colposcopy, assessment of which forms part of the colposcopic index, a scoring instrument used to determine the likelihood that the uterine cervix being examined will have a pathologically significant lesion at biopsy.

Abnormal Vascular Pattern scores
0—Fine-calibre vessels with poorly formed patterns.
1—Absent vessels.
2—Punctate or mosaic pattern.
