zo·o·an·thro·po·no·sis

(zō'ō-an'thrō-pō-nō'sis),
A zoonosis normally maintained by humans but that can be transmitted to other vertebrates (for example, amebiasis to dogs, tuberculosis). Compare: anthropozoonosis, amphixenosis.
