vitreous base
A dense, broad band (2 mm wide) of vitreous attachment to the peripheral retina near the ora serrata. Collagen vitreous fibrils blend anteriorly with the basal lamina of the non-pigmented epithelium of the pars plana of the ciliary body and posteriorly with the internal limiting membrane of the retina.
