ophthalmomeningeal vein of Hyrtl

An obsolete term that formerly dignified a venule arising from the lacrimal vein (alternatively, from the deep facial vein or muscular vein of the orbital cavity) that passes through the superior orbital fissure, communicating with the ophthalmic and cerebral veins.
