A term referring to small grooves on the inferior face of the ribs, usually the 4th-8th thoracic ribs, seen on a plain film of 70% of older children and adults with uncorrected post-ductal—ductus arteriosus—coarctation of the aorta, due to ‘tracks’ from the pressure of dilated intercostal collateral vessels on the ribs
