(1) Breast development, mammogenesis. 
(2) An obsolete term for an excess of breast tissue, which includes:
• Breast enlargement, macromastia, mammary hypertrophy; 
• Pendulous breasts;
• Virginal hypertrophy, gigantomastia; 
• Polymastia.
