local pharmaceutical committee

An independent statutory body bound by Section 44 of the National Health Service Act 1977 (UK) and its regulations, which represents the interests of individuals providing pharmaceutical services at a local level under the Act.

LPCs owe a duty to the contractors they represent; the Committee reserves places for independent and commercial contractors, and those who work for co-operative societies, as well as a member of the Local Pharmaceutical Services (LPS) if there is one within the LPC area
